A Travellerspoint blog

Time to move on, time to get goin

It's happening - taking off for Monrovia, Liberia tomorrow. Twenty-three hours of travel, via Newark, Brussels, and Freetown, will get me to Roberts International Airport. I will be greeted (fingers crossed!) by someone from Rising Academies, the company I am working for while I live there through the end of December. And he will take me to my apartment in Monrovia. And I will meet my boss, Precious, who has already told me that she has ordered food for me.

This blog entry title is ripped from the Tom Petty tune "Time to Move On" that has been fueling me these last weeks of planning: It's time to move on; it's time to get goin. What lies ahead, I have no way of knowin. But under my feet, baby, grass is growin. It's time to move on, time to get goin." I have to say, this is a tune that speaks to me. I am thrilled at what comes next - and who knows what that will be. But it *will be* filled with love, adventure, joy, wonder, along with the headaches and less thrilling bumps and grinds that come along with just about anything. I'll take all of it.

What I have to say now: Amen! And I'll be posting here to share what I see and learn.

Love to all.
